New York Islanders defenseman Ryan Pulock (LTIR) has been activated for Thursday's contest against the Ottawa Senators. Since Nov. 15, Pulock has not played due to a lower-body injury suffered in Tampa against the Lightning. Ryan Pulock took his place atop the Islanders' second power play unit at Thursday's optional morning skate.

Pulock has played in 12 games this season, recording two assists and 19 shots on goal.

Pulock is a big part of the Islanders' team, forward Matt Martin said. Since he joined us a few years ago, he's been a dynamic defenseman. Having him back in the lineup tonight will give us a huge boost."

Ryan Pulock and Adam Pelech had become one of the most dominant defensive pairings in the NHL.

But with the struggles on defense to start the 2021-22 season, Trotz elected to separate the tandem to make the backend more balanced.

Pulock played alongside Zdeno Chara on the second defensive pairing while Pelech welcomed Scott Mayfield on his wing.
